In May 2008, and the Burj Dubai (as it was known then) is yet to be completed. However, the tower is almost at it’s final height sans the antenna mast. Two men–Hervé Le Gallou and his unidentified British accomplice, dressed as engineers, infiltrated the Burj Dubai  (around 650m at the time), and BASE jump off a balcony situated a couple of floors below the 160th floor.

Above is a short documentary film of the Burj Birdmen as they are known and their escapades, by Jan-Paul Bednarz of Buzz Films, as seen on Current TV.

Needless to say security was tightened after the stealth BASE jump, and further still after the building’s opening.

On January 5, the official world record base jump was carried out off Burj Khalifa from a height of 672 meters.
